The M9 is the secondary weapon used by Chaos Insurgency (along with the M4A1 as the primary weapon), although it can also be obtained by other means such as finding it in the Weapon Supply room or spawning it using console commands. It is also one of the two pistols in the game, the other being the USP.

The M9 is the U.S. Army designation for the Beretta 92FS, a variant of the Beretta 92. It is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Italian arms company Beretta and was designed in 1975. It's chambered for 9x19mm Parabellum, .40 Smith & Wesson (Model 96,) 9x21mm IMI (Model 98) and 7.65x21mm Parabellum (Model 98). The Beretta 92FS replaced the M1911A1 in service with the U.S. Army in 1985. The M9 was replaced by the M17 and M18, a variant of the SIG Sauer P320 in 2018.
